Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will give rewards for reading. My students are in kindergarten and most come not knowing letters and sounds. By March almost all of them are reading books with cvc word patterns. Every year in March we do the Dr. Seuss reading challenge across our grade level. Students earn a prize for every 5 books they read. Even reluctant readers want to earn prizes!!

Students are encouraged to read more and reading more helps them become more fluent readers.

Students love all everything Dr. Seuss. The pencils, erasers, pens, notebooks and stickers will all be used as rewards for reading. All students will benefit from having amazing prizes to earn during our reading challenge.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
