This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Football players, student-athletes at DPAC, a K-12 charter school in North Las Vegas. Many of the athletes on the team have about 1 year of football experience on average with at least a half-dozen who have never played before.
The kids are motivated and have been using very cheap and broken gear for the last few years and require better equipment to enhance our program to the level of competitiveness we desire to reach.
Let's Go Blue Knights!
The players are all very enthusiastic and ready to build something special, but they need a lot of financial support to achieve their goals.
My Project
Help my football team compete with the higher budget programs in Las Vegas by assisting us in raising funds to have proper equipment to train with. The tackling dummies will serve the program for a long time and will allow us to learn proper techniques without serious risk of physical injury.
As a small school with less than 100 male students, we already face an uphill battle competing with schools that are often 15x as large as us, but with new equipment and the ability to stretch the budget to hire more coaches this will help us succeed.
