My Project

Reading and understanding Shakespeare can be a love-hate relationship for many students, but with the graphic novel version of the classic, Macbeth, nearly all students are hooked! The graphic novel version of the play offers students visuals that help many struggling readers to enjoy one of our classics! In this visually detailed version of the play, we can supplement our understanding of key scenes and conversations between characters in the original text by also viewing the graphic novel version and analyzing body language, facial expressions, and placement within a scene. Having access to the graphic novel significantly helps with student reading comprehension and lessens some of the pressures of understanding each line perfectly, which, in turn, builds student confidence.

Having a class set of the graphic novel version of the play, Macbeth, will help make the play accessible to all my students - both the advanced readers and the reluctant ones!
