My students are incredible individuals with a variety of learning styles and needs. They bring a smile to my face daily with their loving personalities and their accomplishments. They teach me to always keep trying, no matter how hard a task gets. I love the personalities they bring and challenges we overcome together. They are accepting of their peers and have created a sense of community where everyone feels accepted. The level of selflessness from these kids shows a level of maturity I haven’t seen from any other kids their age. They deserve the best, and I try my hardest to give them just that!
My Project
My students have a hard time enjoying math, so I am looking for any and every excuse imaginable to get them to enjoy it! My students have expressed interest in these Doodle Drawing Boards for working out math problems. They are more willing to write problems out on these due to the highly contrasted colors and easily erasable backgrounds. My students who lack gross motor development would no longer have to flip their pencils to the eraser side and then try pressing hard enough to erase their pencil marks, a feat that seems simple, yet is very frustrating for them. This also decreases the amount of dry erase markers I am constantly having to purchase due to them drying out all of the time!
My students also have the ability to become more engaged in their learning by being able to participate more fully in discussions by holding up their Doodle Boards, which are much lighter and less bulky than our current dry erase boards.
These tools will help create a classroom environment that is less frustrating, more engaging, and more desirable for everyone!
