This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Sometimes you need more than pencil and paper to introduce and reinforce language arts and mathematical skills. Doodle boards provide students the opportunity to practice learned skills using a different type of writing tool. It is a portable desk with all the materials needed to write.

My students come from an inner city community where some may lack necessary materials in their homes to continue their education.

Many come from homes where both parents must work and may not have the resources needed to promote a well rounded educational environment. Our school is where all turn to provide what they lack at home. My students are bright eager children who only need the materials needed to become life long learners. While many of my students lack the needed support and resources at home they do not lack in curiosity and effort to succeed in our changing world.

My Project

A doodle board is another tool that can be used beside pencil and paper to teach. It is not just a toy to doodle on. It is a writing tool used to practice letters, words and numbers. It is a portable desk that can be used anywhere. It can motivate students to learn during language arts and math activities. Children always are inspired and engaged in the learning process when they are presented with something different. Doodle boards provide an enjoyable writing alternative tool in the learning process.

I have used doodle boards in the past as an educational tool to teach.

They are simple portable writing desk that always manage to keep young students engaged during in lesson. I have always hoped to have a set of large doodle boards to share with my students. Usually, because of limited resources, I have only been able to use small doodle boards to teach. It would be great to have much larger boards to share with my students in our our educational journey.
