Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

During the second semester of every school year, students look forward to sunshine melting away the snow and the long spring break that April will bring! And soon after, summer vacation! But mixed in between is a whole lot of learning and a whole lot of end of the year testing. This can bring about the dreaded S word: stress.

Teachers want nothing more than to prepare students for the next grade level and to help them become independent, critical thinkers who can ace any test that is placed in front of them.

With that being said, students often come to school without proper rest, proper nutrition, or with sadness that can interfere with the learning process, therefore, this project helps to bridge that gap.

I have chosen snacks for my students that I can hand out during stressful times like testing days to alleviate anxiety and worry and place the focus back on academics. I have also chosen stress balls, which can be used to squeeze and stretch to release nervousness and fear. My hope is to give students back control and concentration to be successful at each task they undertake.
