I am an 8th grade English teacher who teaches in a rural county. In between the reading and writing I try to teach students to be green with the little things in their life.
Although our school has recycling pick up, we do not have enough bins for individual classrooms. Teachers are using cardboard boxes and sometimes Rubbermaid containers. Because these containers are not easily distinguished from regular trash, students often have to remove unrecyclable materials. Sometimes the cardboard boxes are just thrown into the dumpsters.
Large, bright blue recycling bins would greatly increase the amount of recycling at our school. I predict such a large increase with the classroom recycling that I have also requested a large recycling dumpster to add to the outside pick up area.
Your donation allows students to not only learn about being green but encourages their daily participation in it. From any where in the country you can help make their community a better place.
