This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The Lakeshore Giant Timer would be an incredible asset to my classroom and with bathrooming my students. In Kindergarten the first few months are the most difficult in regards to bathrooming. They kids are still in Pre-k mode and I must bathroom the entire class at one time. I am a stand alone teacher with 25 students and we have one bathroom to share amongst 10 classes. We have a very tight time slot to get this done. Time is of essence as I do not want to loose valuable instructional time as well. Keeping the Lakeshore Giant Timer which is a portable timer with me at all trips to the bathroom reminds the students that they have 12 minutes to bathroom themselves. This is a task that takes months to master. However, because the timer is so large and magnetic, it is easy to see and reminds the students to stay on track. As a result I need the Lakeshore Giant timers desperately.

The magnetic ten frame board are to help with my small groups in math.

These tools help children visualize math concepts as well a use tactile learning.
