Don't Be Safety Blinded, Be Safety Minded

My students need 30 new safety glasses and 4 boxes of lens tissues.

My Students

Students work in the shop area. Our safety glasses are old and breaking and with new safety glasses we could provide a safer environment for them to learn.

My students are great kids when you get to know them.

They take pride in their work and try their best. They don't have a lot so it is up to us to show them what opportunities are available for them. They can take the skills from my class and make something of their future. They deserve a chance. Several live on their own and struggle every day. They are in the 8th and 9th grade and have learned to cope with so much and make due with what they are given.

My Project

Everyday we fight broken or missing safety glasses. With 30 new glasses and lens tissues I will feel more comfortable about my student's safety and be able to offer them more hands-on activities. We don't get to be out in the wood shop area as much as we could. I feel that we could do more with new equipment.

I am a strong believer in the saying that students learn by doing.

In engineering technology we get to do lots of hands-on projects that involve equipment such as table saws, band saws, scroll saws, and hand tools. In order for us to be able to do these projects in the future we need new safety equipment, please!
