Hello there! It looks like I will have around 30 or more second grade students this coming Fall. Most of my students receive services in occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech, guidance counseling and English Language services. A majority of the students are living within the housing projects next to the school.
These students are eager to learn new skills to help them succeed in second grade!
I am also ecstatic to teach them the different units in reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies. Yes, having a large class size is going to be a challenge, but we will overcome it together to make it educational and enjoyable!
My Project
Coding is the latest trend to happen in schools! I want to keep up with the latest trend but need the materials to do so. I am requesting these user kid friendly robotic starter kits. We are requesting Ozobot kits that will be used to connect science, literature and writing. They will write a story about being either Captain America or Iron Man Ozobot with all the story elements. Once they have their superhero story, they will program the super hero Ozobot to act out their written story. When the super hero Ozobot is playing its part, the student gets to narrate his/her story to the class, which is helping him/her with public speaking. The Sphero kits will be use to connect science and math. Students will program the Sphero to knock down math bowling pins. Students will have to keep tract of their own score by adding. Finally, the Lego robot will involve them to work cooperatively to create the robot. Once they created the robot of their choice, they will program it to be a classroom helper, like pass out papers or pencils.
Many hours of creative academic fun with robots in the classroom!
That can be possible if you help out in donating to this project. Thank you for your time.
