Dollars & Sense: Financial Literacy Through a Classroom Store

Help me give my students with dyslexia, books and materials to learn real-world money skills by creating a classroom economy where they earn, save, and spend in a fun and supportive environment!

My Project

My students are bright, curious learners who face daily challenges with reading, writing, and processing due to dyslexia. Despite these challenges, they are highly motivated to learn and thrive when given hands-on, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences.

We are a specialized classroom serving students in grades 1-5 who benefit from multi-sensory, structured literacy instruction.

My students thrive when they feel confident and teaching and learning about financial literacy through a classroom based store will not only help them feel confident, but reward them in the process. They love to read and work hands on and will enjoy running our classroom store.
