This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students attend an urban high school with a diverse population. Many of my students are English language learners and/or from low income families. They sit in my chemistry class everyday, facing a daunting curriculum, and we battle through it together.

These students bring their best effort everyday.

In our classroom, I provide many of the materials that help them learn. They have chalk markers and dry erase markers to write on desks and lab surfaces. They engage more if they can write on the table! I will do anything to get them working. Unfortunately, we don't always have the supplies we need.

My Project

Have you ever tried calculating the number of atoms in 3 moles of water on a calculator smaller than your palm? It's kind of tough! Chemistry is hard enough. Please help my kids excel at Chemistry without having to worry about dealing with difficult calculators.

These students work so hard to learn a tough subject.

They stick with it and give me 100% all the time. Help me equip them with the tools they need. They will use these daily as we complete stoichiometric calculations required in the chemistry curriculum. They will be even more useful for the laboratory experiments.
