Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We have puppies that come to our school to support social and emotional learning as well as literacy. Not only are these puppies being given a safe and loving place to learn and grow, but they are also providing joy to those involved. Our pilot schools have seen positive shifts in the overall culture and climate of their school buildings as well as student behaviors.

We are asking for books for students to read to the dogs to help build their oral reading fluency and confidence.

Dogs are proven to be great reading buddies.
