Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at our middle school are hard working, creative, compassionate and driven towards excellence. They are eager to take on the challenges of changing our world in a positive way and are ready to use their musical voices as a guiding force in creating change.
The communities we serve are vibrant and diverse.
Although many of our students face daily challenges in the neighborhoods they live in, they do so with optimism, integrity and pride. As teachers we strive to give them a place that elevates their voices.
My Project
Western music has 12 notes. These notes are the same on every instrument, and for all intents and purposes, have been the same for hundreds of years. What has changed however, are the tools and technology that we have available to us to create music with these 12 notes.
This project will provide my students with some of the music industry's most powerful music production tools.
Students will use the Native Instruments Complete Kontrol keyboard, Komplete software instruments and the Machine sampler/sequencer to create original music.
These tools will allow students to develop technical and creative skills that will empower them to become life long music makers.
