This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the new school year approaches, I am developing hybrid workspaces to promote students' project-based learning. Students are proven to learn better in a blended-learning, technologically advanced, and hands on classroom. This will support our students with disabilities by giving them the opportunity to self-pace and self-regulate. Students in our after school STEAM and Social Media clubs will need ways to document their goals and visions for empowering themselves and their peers.
This photo printer and supplies will allow students in STEAM and Social Media clubs to document their visionary ideas and display them around the school.
Unfortunately, working in a public urban school means that oftentimes, our most wanted and needed items (such as technology) go overlooked as more immediate needs are prioritized. This printer will support a new project-based learning program that I am developing allowing students to apply their learned skills to real-world scenarios. In other words, students will be problem solving for sustainability issues around our school. These projects promote emotional investment in their work and allow students the opportunity to grow social skills through group efforts. This printer and supplies will give students the tools they need to ensure their voices are heard.
