Document Camera for Distance Learning

Help me give my students a document camera that can be used in our distance learning due to Covid 19 pandemic. This camera will help me to provide quality, interactive therapy sessions with my students!

My Students

My school is nestled in a small town in the outskirts of a suburban community. The school is near a military base and although we have many students who are from families who have lived in the area for years or even generations, we also have families who only live in the area for short periods of time. The school has over 800 students and is pre-K through fifth grades. I am a speech language pathologist who serves approximately 40 students ranging from ages 3 to 10.

The students who I serve, work on individual speech and language goals.

Some of the students have other diagnoses such as developmental delays, autism and attention deficit disorder. Some of my students work on articulation goals. This means that they may work on saying specific sounds correctly. Others work on receptive language. These students may have difficulties understanding the meaning of information or following directions. Some students work on expressive language such as using vocabulary, categorizing, expanding sentences, describing and comparing and contrasting. Some students even work on social language skills in which they learn what to say or how to respond in certain situations.

My Project

This document camera will allow me to present materials that I already have in a virtual manner! I will be able to present articulation cards, games, books and many other materials. Not only will my students be able to see the materials, they will be able to interact virtually using various tools to write, highlight, etc. The students will greatly benefit from interacting with the materials as opposed to merely watching on a screen. Students will be more engaged in their learning from home and parents will be able to better carry over skills that are presented to the students.
