Not all students have the same resources at home. They come from all ability levels and backgrounds. Some are in advanced courses, and others are in more remedial courses. ALL have a need for technology in the classroom, per our curriculum.
In order to prepare these students for their futures by teaching 21st-century skills, they need 21st-century technology!
Not every student can afford to buy all of their school supplies, much less a tablet, case, or charging stand.
My Project
Accessible and charged technology is essential and I am requesting three Adjustable Dividers Charging Stations. I need to safely and effectively charge the classroom tablets we do have with a docking station, so the technology can last as long as possible.
Keeping multiple tablets organized and ready to go is a job unto itself!
Keeping classroom tablets charged and housed makes the tablets easy to use, whenever the need may arise. This could be when students need to use Google Classroom to write and revise, or it could be to answer a research question. It could even be to play a review game together.
However, If technology is not reliable, learning cannot take place. My students are fortunate enough to have a set of tablets to rely on if they do not have their own technology. It is important that I maintain it in a way that they will use it regularly. This directly impacts student learning: if I have the technology ready for them, they can use it immediately.
