This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This project is perfect for my 1st-grade students. Magnets are a standard for 1st grade and my 1st graders have inquisitive minds when it comes to magnets. I like to provide my students with hands-on learning activities. The magnet kits will be great for my 1st graders. They will experiment with different materials to find out which materials will attract magnets like paper clips and claw binders. They will use sticky notes to write down characteristics of objects that attract to magnets and characteristics of objects that do not attract to magnets. The label maker will be used to label items around the room that will attract to magnets. Also, I want to expose my 1st graders to a new gadget in the STEAM lab. They will learn to operate the label maker with my help. The broom and dustpan are needed to teach my babies how to tidy up behind themselves. I am excited about teaching my little ones about magnets in summer school.
