Nelson Mandela said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Many of my students face struggles that come with inner-city poverty, and education is their key to success. With the struggles they face, I want to help change their world!
My students come from various backgrounds.
The 125 students who walk through my door come with various learning styles, learning disabilities, as well as gifted and talented. Some have needs that have been met, but there are many where they get their only hot meal while they are at school. Through arts integration, hands-on, exciting, and active assessment, all students in my fifth grade, inner-city classroom prove themselves time and time again.
My students need a class set of Hokki stools. In this project, I am requesting four stools to add to the other eight that generous DonorsChoose.org supporters so graciously bought for my class.
The stools are great for students with Attention Deficit Disorders, as well as students who just like to wiggle. These stools are very easy to move around the room for collaborative group work. They are ideal for brainstorming sessions and other active sitting environments. You're moving, even when you seem to be sitting still. The convex base allows for movement in all directions, which is critical to student development. Physical movement both increases well-being and encourages the physical and intellectual maturing process. Any partnership you can offer to my students would be much appreciated.
My kids are amazing!
They deserve the best in every aspect of life, especially in their education. Help me to help them achieve their best by partnering with me to get these stools. You will help this class and many students to come. Thanks in advance for your generous support!
