My students love to use their iPads to learn in school. All students in my school have school-issued iPads. They use the iPads to watch videos, to read, to turn in work, and to record themselves. Students are asked to explain their thinking often. They use white board apps that ask them to "write" their ideas on their iPad, much like they would write with a pen. However, many students find that writing with their fingers can be a problem.
One solution to that issue: a stylus pen!!
Students much prefer to "write" on their iPad with a stylus. It allows them to write on the iPad like they would write on paper. It is more legible and students are more motivated when they have a gadget to write with.
All students in my school have school-issued iPads. They complete projects in which they must write ideas down (like they would with a pen) and video record themselves. Students use white screen apps that allow them to explain their ideas and their thinking. Many students prefer to write with a stylus pen instead of their finger. The students will frequently borrow a stylus from me in order to turn in work that is neater, more accurate and better aesthetically. However, I never have enough stylus pens for all of the students that would like to use them. There are also several students with fine motor skill issues that make it challenging to write with a finger. Having access to a style would alleviate this issue. This project would allow all students who wish to use a stylus access to them.
