it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I switched to teaching high school following 25 years at the bench as a molecular biologist. My school has basic equipment like gel electrophoresis tanks and voltage supplies just waiting to be used! I love training kids in this technology, and with my experience, I make it very easy for them to quickly become proficient at the bench. Watching that relatively fast transition between feeling like molecular biology is over their heads to having confidence in their abilities to understand and execute basic techniques is priceless!
By having hands on experience, it opens up new possibilities for careers as they gain confidence in their abilities.
