Even my former students still come back to grab pads, which tells me how much this station matters and how few other places offer this kind of support. The stress balls are a fun prize that students can earn, and they are a healthy way to release tension during a tough day or a test. The new bulletin board materials have turned our walls into both a rotating gallery of student work and a set of writing resources, so students can look up at the wall for sentence starters, vocabulary, and models whenever they are building an argument on paper. We have also created a reading corner, a quiet space where students can settle in with a book or a history text and focus. The pens, pencil boxes, and organizers mean no one starts class without the tools to participate.\r\n\r\nThe prize box has become the highlight of our week. Every Friday, students who were on time and completed their work all week choose a prize, and they love it. High schoolers may act too cool for prizes, but you would never know it on Fridays, when they cheer for each other and look forward to picking something out. Even though I haven't downloaded every app yet, students have already been using the iPads to research and gather inspiration on Pinterest, and to create high-quality presentations using Google Slides and Canva. They're using these tools to build mood boards and presentations for our fashion show, which helps them strengthen both their design thinking and their communication skills.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students has been how hands-on the iPads and Pencils feel. They can quickly sketch ideas, organize visuals, and put their concepts together in a polished way without having to stop and start or wait for a computer. We do have five MacBooks in the classroom, but students consistently gravitate toward the iPads because they're faster to grab, easier to use on the go, and feel more personal.\r\n\r\nA few students have especially warmed to this new technology. One student even started documenting our class and creating social media content to showcase what we're doing—something that has built excitement and pride across the whole group.
