Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In order to improve literacy, my high school students are able to choose books they want to read and I create time in the classroom for them to quietly read.

Over the past few years I have had an increase of ELL (English Language Learner) students who struggle to find books in English that keep them engaged in silent reading and are at a level that is accessible for them.

The books requested in this project will bring in DK Eyewitness books into my classroom library. DK Eyewitness books have full color diagrams labeled with fantastic vocabulary words to strengthen the students' language.

I'm requesting a class set of DK Eyewitness books for my classroom with a variety of topics so students can choose what interests them and use the pictures and diagrams to strengthen their English language skills.
