My Students

My students live in a broad, spread-out collection of rural communities, commuter neighborhoods, and an old mining town--all about an hour from the nearest shopping mall or movie theater. At least half of my students receive free and reduced lunches, and many families struggle to meet their basic needs.

Students all learn in different ways, and my goal is to provide a variety of learning experiences and tools for each of them.

Learning should not be stagnant and school does not have to be a chore. Every student has a passion and when we unlock that passion, we can unlock their learning potential. That's what our sixth grade classroom is all about.

My Project

My class is so grateful for the support we have received so far to equip us with the VR equipment we need. Now that we have a class set of Google Cardboard headsets, we need some devices to use with them! We have two donated phones, and some students can use their own, but we need at least 3 more affordable devices to make everything work much more smoothly.

If the technology is frustrating, the learning experience can be hindered or reduced.

With these three inexpensive devices, the virtual reality apps we need will always be loaded and the batteries will always be charged, guaranteeing the best learning experience possible!
