Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Readers of all ages can find much to consider, relate to, and celebrate in these transcendent stories of people who’ve had an impact on our lives and culture. These are some of my favorite illustrated biographies and memoirs for young book-lovers. Sometimes reading stories about one child’s brave act, creative spark, or quiet determination is enough to inspire our students to believe that they have power just waiting to be discovered. These books can help our students think about what they want to do when they get older. Moreover, how do we encourage young people to pay attention to the world we live in without feeling powerless in the face of what often seem to be enormous challenges? We choose to read to them or have these books available for them in our library.
