Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students I have in my 2nd-grade classroom are a diverse group. We are a Title I school, with 85% of students on free or reduced-price lunch. My students are the best ever! They come into the room with big smiles and are always ready to learn!

They work hard and always try their best!

My students are an energetic and enthusiastic group of seven and eight-year-olds who are eager to learn with hands-on experiences. They thrive on authentic opportunities to learn the basic skills they will need for the rest of their lives.

My job is to support the skills they already have and to develop them into successful adults. I want to provide my students with opportunities to be excited about learning and school.

My Project

My students need to read and learn about diversity and social justice. These books would be used in class and also used for the kids who are at home.

Justice and equality books are excellent teaching tools.

They can provide students individual encouragement, can be used to promote character education discussions, and can empower students to make positive changes within our school and community.

My students will create artwork to go along with the picture books we read. This is a tough topic that needs to be taught and books like these will be so helpful! Thank you. These art pieces will fill the hallways of our school. Showing how we can help change the WORLD!
