My Project

This novel will allow the students a new perspective and give them literature from an Asian author, which is lacking in our school. The goal is to give students something fresh and modern, but that still allows them to deepen their understanding of the world. These students have signed up for the International Baccalaureate program, which means they are craving new and challenging experiences. This will help me give them something different.

In the novel, "In Order to Live," Yeonmi Park shares her personal story about growing up in North Korea and her plight to find freedom.

It will challenge students because of the harsh conditions described, but inspire them because of the courage and compassion shown by Park. I think it is a must read!
