The students in my school and classroom are full of excitement and passion for learning. They are grateful for any and all educational materials and experiences that are provided to them and are thrilled to learn in new and engaging ways.
My students are part of a Title 1 school and are incredibly diverse across the board.
Not only are they diverse in their heritage and backgrounds, but their socio-economic status' vary as well as their academic progress and behaviors. Serving such a diverse school is both a challenge and a learning experience.
My Project
Flexible seating will allow my students to feel included and comfortable in the environment they spend most of their time in.
Having customized seating options that fit their specific wants and needs will help to create a physical sense of belonging for my students.
Once their basic needs of belonging are met then my students can be truly engaged in our content and strive towards the high expectations I have for them.
There is a wide variety of student abilities and needs in my classroom, the seating options provided by this project will help to cater to many of those needs. A large amount of students in my classroom are challenged with ADD/ADHD. These students crave movement throughout the day. The flexible seating options that this project will provide will help these students to get the movement they need to perform their best.
The flexible seating options I want to provide my students depend on the materials requested. The wobble stools and stools allow students to remain at their desks but help them to move and engage their brain through learning. The blow up wobble cushions and chair bands are options for students who enjoy sitting at their desk and chair but need to fidget their body in order to learn.
