My Students

Our students range in academics from co-taught, resource and general education students grades 9-12. These students are academically high and are excited to learn. Over half of these students are in a low-income area and do not always have access to reading materials. They want to learn and have an interest in the content we have taught this year. I would love to obtain these novels so that they can further their knowledge of the literary world around them.

My Project

These materials can make a difference for my students by giving them access to materials that are diverse and multi-cultural. They would be reading this novel during my class and relating it to their own struggles and life experiences. They would be using these relevant materials to have insight into a life unlike their own.

Students would be reading this novel and making their own assumptions about life, and helping to express their ideas through reading and writing during this unit.

The attitude of my students would be challenged and discussed throughout this novel unit. They would use this resource as a viable learning tool.
