Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are energetic, creative, and willing to learn. I am teaching in a low income public school district where almost all students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Despite many difficulties these students may face, they come to school knowing it is a safe space where they can be themselves.
My students are my motivation for creating learning experiences they will never forget!
My students love hands-on activities and are bold, eager learners. They don't shy away from a difficult task!
My Project
My students love my classroom library! I love watching them eagerly look for a book to read next and share their favorite books with classmates. They love when we have a few extra minutes in our schedule for them to read the books they have picked out. Our classroom library is missing some important books that celebrate diversity. My students come from many different backgrounds, and I would like to see my library be an inspiration to every student.
My students will connect with diverse characters.
They will have a chance to read books about people like themselves who have done great things. I want every student to be inspired by a book in my library.
