This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The students at my school are learning to be accepting of students from other cultures and diverse backgrounds. In order to learn about others they are learning about themselves and what makes them who they are. The books requested in this project will provide characters which students in my school can relate to or identify with. These books will provide students the opportunity to work through their social emotional learning and become aware of themselves and others. I will be working with a group of 4th grade girls who struggle with acceptance of others and use these books with the group.
