I teach in an ethnically diverse, Title I elementary school. My students come to school with a wide range of knowledge and it is my mission to give them all an equal shot at a successful future.
Our classroom is built on a feeling of community and we are a family at school.
I love these students and want to give them every opportunity to love learning and soar into their futures.
I teach in a looping school so I had these amazing students last year in kindergarten and am blessed to continue my journey with them through first grade this year. This has been an amazing experience and I am excited for the opportunity to continue this innovative approach to teaching and learning.
My Project
The books and learning tools I am requesting will help my students better understand the diversity in our classroom and our world. We will do book studies and interactive projects that bring the world to their fingertips.
My students will come to understand that although there are differences among us, our similarities are what bring us together.
It is imperative for my students to see themselves reflected in the literature available to them in our classroom. They need to see that they have an important role in our classroom and in the world. I want each student to feel important!
