My Project
I'm in my sixth year of teaching and have been collecting more and more books over the years and I would love to continue to add diverse books to my classroom library! Our classroom is full of a wide range of backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures, interests and abilities. I want my students to be able to see themselves in the books they're reading and I also want us to learn about other cultures and holidays celebrated all around the world.
It's important that students learn about one another to build respect and interest in each others' similarities and differences.
We have designated independent reading time during our school day where my students are able to select books from our library to read and we also have time set aside for read alouds as a class. These books will provide so much learning and adventures for my students!
