My Students
I work with an amazing group of 20 kindergarteners. The kids come from all different backgrounds and speak six different languages! They love learning and come to school everyday excited to try new things. Some of my students have disabilities but that doesn't stop them. They work extra hard to keep up with their peers.
Our school is one of the largest and best elementary schools in Boston. We work hard to help our students succeed and become independent learners. We want them to build a love for learning that will stay with them forever.
My Project
My students love reading. They need more culturally diverse books to look at. Children need to see themselves reflected in the pages of the books they read. It helps them become more confident and strengthens all of their learning experiences.
My students come from all different cultural backgrounds. We need books that reflect all of them. They need to see families that look like their own. They need to hear stories that look and sound like experiences they've had in their own lives. Please help me fill my library with a beautiful selection of diverse books!
