Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district. My students are faced with several obstacles both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many obstacles they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences. Our school district is currently closed due to the pandemic and in financial turmoil; therefore, our school budgets have been cut in half. We thank you in advance for your kind donations.
My students are creative, smart, and very eager to learn.
They like to move, they love to read, and they love lots of positive attention. Many of them are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Also, my students are currently learning remotely from home and don't have even the basic essential materials to do their assignments. I'm currently teaching my students via Zoom classroom meetings and assigning homework with via Seesaw. So any kind donation is welcomed. Thank you for assisting me in helping our little ones in receiving the best education possible!
My Project
Our school closed quickly and suddenly due to the pandemic with very little opportunity to retrieve significant resources to help us transition to distance learning.
Technology is paramount and plays an important part throughout every part of our culture.
It affects how we live, work, play, and learn. These days Elmo document cameras are used to make our presentations interactive and fun. The Elmo document camera can work with a Smartboard, computer, or laptop.
By donating an Elmo document camera I will be able to deliver a more meaningful distance learning lesson for my students. This tool of technology will provide my students with the ability to see their material concisely in a short amount of time.
The Elmo document camera would show students how to complete their assignments correctly, write in a daily math problem of the day, homework reminders, and model students' assignments that require multiple steps that everyone would be able to see and follow along.
Also, a surge protector to help protect and secure electronic devices. Finally, the laptop Stand Docking Station will assist in making the connection from the laptop to the Elmo document camera seamlessly and quickly.
