This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My middle school students are full of life and love to socialize. Sixth graders at my school have just started the transition to middle school. They are navigating their way from one teacher to many teachers and many more students. They are going through immense personal, physical and academic changes. This a very important time of their lives. I try to incorporate as much interaction and group learning into our math lessons as possible so that students are engaged and learning different ideas from each other.
My Project
I am asking for gift cards for Teachers Pay Teachers so that I can purchase digital learning projects and practice for mathematics lessons. I would like to make distance learning as engaging and fun as possible. Having pre-created google slides and notes for lessons as well as escape room practice activities and interactive digital games will allow me to spend more of my working time helping students in video chats and less time preparing slides that someone has already made. Being able to purchase digital curriculum will allow me more time to directly work with my students.
