The students are vibrant, young people who struggle with academic motivation. Many are English Language Learners and come from low-income households. Whatever their struggles, they are heroic in their perseverance to experience life. As typical middle schoolers, they question rules, guidelines and often learn lessons the hard way. In math classes, especially, during middle school, students start to lose interest in academics and motivation that school is important. Family Math and Science Night is one way we try to inspire them. all students.
