Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I currently work at an elementary school that is located in the epicenter of the COVID epidemic. My student's are currently at home doing remote learning. They either are lucky enough to have technology or had to borrow technology from the DOE. They are missing out on hands on activities, modeling through technology, and missing books at home. They are receiving assignments through Google Classroom. I want to make more engaging activities and this project will allow me to do so.
My Project
The materials I am asking for are for distance learning. It is to help my student's during this remote learning. There are coloring books to entertain them. Along with coloring pencils. As well as a chapter book for each student to read since some are having difficulty accessing online websites. They will be able to sustain reading at home if they receive this. The envelopes are being used to help send the packages to their homes or for when they pick up their materials at school. All these items will help them during this distance learning at home. My student's are in the epicenter of this pandemic.
