Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This upcoming school year will be one like no other. I have found out that our school will be teaching 40% of the students at school and 60% at home. I have very little information about what this will look like and as teachers, we are preparing for everything. With my students only coming to school 40% of the time this will make teaching Kindergartener what they need to learn more challenging. We will be actively engaged in all sorts of different online platforms and trying to learn new things along the way. My students and I will participate in through Zoom meetings to go over new material that we might not get to in class.

My Project

My students need to be able to hear me no matter where I am in the classroom. These speakers will allow my students from home to hear me better while we are on our Zoom meetings. I am also asking for an Apple pencil to help write and circle items on the iPad more effectively. My students will be able to see clearer handwriting than me trying to write with my finger.

I also need some bins to organize the school materials I will be using that day.

My students and I only have three hours together on-line. Being able to have everything ready and organize will help our Zoom meeting run smoothly. Kindergarteners have lots of hands-on materials that I will have to explain how to use the new materials while they are at home. Having them sort and in bins will help in time management.

The last item I am asking for is an air cleaner. It has become evident that there is a need for preventative measures to help keep people healthy in any space. I will be in my classroom every day while my students at home. The air cleaner will clean the air of all pollutants and filter clean air back out. I have asthma and want to make sure the air in the room is as clean as it can be. Distance Learning will hard enough for my students every day and I hope not to miss a day of school this year to keep them on track. Thank you for your support and supporting children and their education.
