My school is a Title I school that sits in the heart of Washington, DC. I have a group of 50 students who are fun loving, eager to learn new things and excited about school. They love math and science. My classroom would be considered a melting pot of cultural heritage and social needs. Many of my students have been in the United States less than four years. They inspire me every day.
To meet their needs, we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and independent learning options to ensure that all students' needs are met, right where they are!
My Project
My school district has decided to do distance learning for the next month in a half and many of my students do not have any technology to take part in video conferencing and class chats that I would like to use to continue teaching and interacting with the students. There is already access to free internet, but they are missing computers. We do not know how much longer schools will continue to stay closed and I would love to get more computers for my students.
Every donation is being doubled and could be the difference needed to get 5 computers in the hands of students who really need them!
