My students need dissection kits and eye balls to dissect!!
Do you remember science class when you were younger? The hands on activities, that's what you hold onto throughout life. My students would love to be able to have the opportunity to do a real hands-on dissection lab.
My students are a great group of middle school students living in an area of PA that is economically disadvantaged.
They are inquisitive, bright students that could benefit from a fun and interactive lab. The school they are in qualifies for free breakfast and lunch because of the level of poverty. The school has a large population of homeless students that attend and I have several in my classes.
I would love to be able to show my class what dissection is all about! These materials would provide my students with their first experience in seeing not only a real eye ball but give them the opportunity to see the parts and discuss how they work. Dissection is something that a lot of high school students do, I want to afford my middle school student the chance to explore this lab.
Remember when you did your first dissection?
The smell, the feel, the sight of that worm or frog eyeball? That's what I would like for my students. Please help do this for my kids.
