Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a Title I school, with 100% of the student qualifying for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. My students range from ages 7-8 in a low-income, military area.

My students are wonderful, they are hard-working, very intelligent, and sweet children, some homeless, or with parents who are deployed.

Currently, I have 18 amazing students. They join me each and every day eager and ready to learn. We are currently completely in the classroom, yet adapting to when students have to be quarantined.

My Project

I am seeking an amazing STEAM activity to help my students learn and understand how an ecosystem works, and how it applies to them and their lives. Students will be able to create their own ecosystem and explore using hands-on learning. This donation would help students make connections to the world around them. These terrariums would allow my students to see firsthand how each level of the ecosystem is needed and helps one another. This project would allow my students to create their own ecosystems using these kids.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
