My Students
My students come to school each day ready to learn. They come from various backgrounds. One hundred percent of the students eat free breakfast and lunch each day. The economic status of the area would qualify it for the highest poverty area. More than 60% of my students are immigrants from Central America and Africa.
Each student believes they can achieve and works hard toward their own success.
This attitude makes it possible to meet our goals. While most students are below grade level, they work hard to master challenges. This project will help us meet our goals.
My Project
Can you imagine having only one book to teach to a group of 30 students who want the book in their hands? Neither can I, but this is the predicament I find myself in. I was given the new text for my students to learn about the world around them, but was only given one book. This book is so interesting and there are many topics my students can learn from it, but with only one book I am asking for your help.
My students love to learn about animals and their habitats along with learning about the world they live in.
With your help, I can put this magnificent book into their hands as I teach them about animal habitats and their special adaptations. This book will empower my students to know more than just the city they live in. They will be able embrace the world they live in along with the species that live in the world with them.
It is my hope that you can help put this book into the hands of my deserving students. Many are just learning English and this book in their hands will allow them to see the words as we read and make connections. I thank you in advance for your help!
