My Students
Open our minds to new ways science can be used to solve high tech crimes like bioterrorism. Our class needs interesting reading material that shows how science can be used to solve crimes and track the movement of illness across a population.
My forensic science students are eager high school students attend an urban arts high school.
These goal oriented artists, musicians, actors, and dancers strive to be the best in their artistic discipline and in their classroom. My students are eager to make connections between topics learned in our science classroom and the real world.
My Project
Having copies of The Cobra Event by Richard Preston will allow my forensic science students to embark on a virtual field trip as we follow the clues that will lead us to solving a crime committed by a bio-terrorist. We will be able to learn more about the autopsies, disease pathology, and epidemiology.
Most importantly we will be reading and connecting topics in our classroom to the real world! These books will help highlight the value of forensic science and its implications to public safety.
My students would really benefit from having these books to help make our class even more interesting, as it will connect forensic science concepts to thrilling real world situations.
