My Students

I work with a population of children who receive all day 4 year old preschool.

The goal of my classroom is to expose children to many life experiences, social, and academic skills before kindergarten while learning through play.

Much of my class population class would not have a preschool or group experience without this. Many of my children have economic needs. My children are awesome. They are eager, fun, curious, and lovable! I am looking to add more literacy exploration and sensory items into my classroom this year to further the children’s interest, play, and discovery! All children LOVE to explore and create and learn. They all should have the opportunity.

My Project

My children are in an all day pre-k classroom. They need to learn their letters before kindergarten. I have found the best way to teach letter knowledge is through play and exploration. The ABC mystery box will help the children match letters with items that have the beginning sound. It also has the discovering and sensory component of it that the children will find enticing. Games also teach children to take turns and be patient.

Children are naturally curious at four years old and they need to be engaged in sensory play while learning their ABC's by using items like the floating letters in water or the find the letter activity.

They need to discover and learn through play. These items will help the children gain ABC knowledge, social skills, and meet sensory needs.
