Digital Writing for Success

My students need LCD Writing Tablets to engage in classroom lessons in a visual and tactile manor. Many of my students have learning disabilities that make it difficult to complete academic tasks without a visual.

My Students

My 4th grade class is comprised of students with and without disabilities. Our school is near a large military installation so our student population is a little over 1/4 military children. My students are full of laughter and learning. We may not learn the "traditional way" but their eagerness to learn and master new skills is evident in every smile of accomplishment.

My students work hard daily on the skills needed to improve their math computation and reading skills.

They also enjoy practicing their skills with each other while involved in hands-on math and reading activities.

My Project

My students need a way to practice academic skills and participate in class in a concrete way. Many of my students have learning disabilities that make it essential to have a quick and easy way to write down their thoughts, drawings, and notes. An LCD Writing Tablet for each student would allow them to easily draw an array to figure out a multiplication problem, make a picture to help think through a word problem, or even create a thinking map to guide their writing. The task of writing is difficult for my students and having a motivating medium for their thoughts that never needs to be sharpened, or never dries out or loses a cap would benefit their learning in all subjects.
