My Students

Hi, my name is Mr. Lue (sensei-lue). I am a CTE teacher at an older school (established 1907) in Sandy, Utah. As a digital studies high-school educator, I want to teach my students with the aid of current technology. Since I started teaching I have discovered that many of my students are tactile learners who struggle with boring lectures and desire more hands-on experience.

My hope is to acquire "podcasting" equipment to help students produce their own podcasts in my classroom.

In addition, I would like to replace the wireless mic in my classroom with a more professional and reliable, hands-free unit. I am a roaming teacher on-stage with a sincere desire to keep the students engaged. The existing mic squeaks regularly and needs constant adjustment.

Will you help me brighten the minds of 240 students? Many of these students are from low-income households and fall on the wrong side of the digital divide. My hope is to elevate digital literacy in my learning community.

My Project

Utah Strands and Standards for Digital Business Applications require students to show evidence of performance objectives.

The student's digital portfolio must include a professional podcast.

Since the pandemic, students started to disengage more than ever. How can we make classroom learning more fun and relevant? We create a use-case for professional podcasting. Using the tools on my Donor's Choose wish list is a good step towards active learning. Working together we can keep hope alive.
