My Students

My students, like many students, learn best through hands on learning!

Students like to do labs and have learning experiences that reinforce the content, so we have a very active classroom.

I teach over 100 different students which includes English Language Learners, Special Education students, advanced science students, and regular education students. We have diverse learners with diverse needs, and hands-on learning is beneficial for helping them all succeed. These scales will be utilized by all the students in multiple labs throughout the two years that I teach them.

My Project

We do several labs that require scales, but we as a building currently have to share just a couple digital scales. This is not conducive to labs, because students have to wait a long time to be able to make measurements.

Student access to digital balances will allow for a better opportunity to grow in and understand the content.

These scales will allow us to have multiple opportunities for students to make their measurements, on many labs such as 7th grade metric lab, 8th grade conversions lab, archimedes lab, bubble gum lab, salinization lab, and more. I have seen the gains that my students make during hands-on activities, and know these scales will help.
