Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students I teach are full of energy and excitement each day. We have a range of multicultural students from Latino, African-American, Asian-American, and even Ethiopian cultures. Many are English Language Learners (ELL), and they often struggle with learning English as it is not their primary language.

Despite their varied cultures, our students bond together through respect for individual backgrounds and beliefs, supporting the idea that we are one school with one goal of success.

Our school is considered a Title I school, and we are 100% free breakfast and lunch. Due to some of the low-income housing around our school, we often have a high transient rate with new students coming into our classrooms every month.

We currently have a "house" system much like the Harry Potter house built on the Ron Clark Academy model. Our students have instilled the ideals of wisdom, creativity, friendship/kindness, and courage from our house system.

My Project

Since doing distance learning from the beginning of the year, I have created and used many digital resources online. Students are being faced with the difficult task of maintaining motivation while learning at home.

Using a variety of digital resources can spark interest and engagement.

Many resources are readily available online.

Help me purchase teacher-created items found on Teachers Pay Teachers to ignite inspiration and self-motivation in my online courses. Teachers Pay Teachers offers a wide variety of options such as digital notebooks, projects, and thematic novel units that make learning relevant and fun.
