I teach fifth grade in a small school with 150 students. Our school is located in a small town in southwestern Indiana. We have a high level of impoverished students. 65% of our students are on free lunch.

One day while downloading some photos that I had taken of my class with my personal digital camera, several of my students inquired about the process of downloading photos and how to edit them. Since most students in my school do not have access to digital photography, they were really enthusiastic to learn more. That's when I thought of the idea of a digital photography club. Now all students in the school can learn techniques in digital photography.

I need a digital camera for the digital photography club. I chose the Canon Digital Rebel because I know how to use it, and it is very user friendly. It must be a good quality camera that will last for years. It must be durable so that many students will have access to it. Plus, most importantly, it needs to be user friendly.

Your donation will make it possible for the students in my school to take a further step into the 21st century. They will learn the skill and the creativity of digital photography. Hopefully, through the digital photography club that I have planned, my students will learn the value of digital photography and the creativity that photography can create.
